Words of Wisdom “Why our Position Isn’t Important.”

I learned later on that being in a desirable position in life doesn’t mean anything if you aren’t doing anything meaningful with it.

Our titles, salary, and influence are things that can validate our position in life. The bigger the validation, the more critical our place in life, or so it seems. I was taught at an early age the importance of being in a position that people could aspire to be in and why it was necessary. However, later in life, I learned that being in a desirable position doesn’t mean anything if you aren’t willing to do anything meaningful with it. To break it down in standard terms being influential equates to nothing if you are not prominent with a purpose. We weren’t put on earth to be in position and die, but yet life has a way of making us comfortable with that notion. When we choose to hide behind the privilege of being in position, we voluntarily sacrifice our purpose, our gifts, and our ability to transform lives. Never settle to only be in position instead; use that opportunity to grow, evolve, and outgrow that opportunity so that somebody else can fulfill that position. Life is about growth, and growth comes from the opportunities we create. Happy Wednesday and coffee cheers.
